European Team of the Week: Ronaldo, Fabregas and Suarez Dazzle

Cristiano Ronaldo is WhoScored.com’s player of the week this week after his memorable performance in Real Madrid’s 5-1 win over Real Sociedad.

The Portuguese was in blistering form once again, netting a hat-trick and providing an assist that saw Los Blancos keep up the pace with league leaders and rivals Barcelona, earning his rating of 10.

On the opposite flank is Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson after the midfielder put in a notable display in the 4-0 win over Fulham. Henderson executed six key passes in the victory and was rewarded for his creativity with an assist as he secured a rating of nine.

In the middle of the park are Daniele Conti and Cesc Fabregas from Cagliari and Barcelona, respectively. The former netted twice as Cagliari secured only their third win of the season, picking up a nine in the process, while the latter ended the 4-1 win over Real Betis with a 10 after he helped himself to an assist and a brace in the victory.

Leading the attack is Liverpool striker Luis Suarez and Hertha Berlin’s Adrian Ramos. Suarez continued his rich vein of form with a brace against Fulham, as well as six key passes and four successful dribbles. Ramos also netted twice in Hertha’s 3-2 win over Hoffenheim and picked up an assist for Anis Ben-Hatira’s opener as the duo were awarded a 10 each.

Despite being on the losing side, in the same game Hoffenheim’s Sejad Salihovic also makes the cut at left-back after the Bosnian netted both of his side’s goals in the encounter, not to mention his six tackles resulting in a rating of nine.

At right-back, Tito also takes a place in the XI with his rating of nine in Rayo’s 2-0 win over Celta Vigo. The Portuguese grabbed an assist in the victory while also making a clearance off the line and four tackles to deny Celta from scoring over the 90 minutes.

In the heart of the defence is Braunschweig’s Deniz Dogan. The experienced centre-back played a pivotal role in the 0-0 draw with Hannover 96, winning six aerial duels and making 17 clearances to aid in the Bundesliga newcomers keeping their second successive clean sheet.

Dogan is partnered by Nantes’ Papy Djilobodji after the Senegalese denied Bordeaux from scoring in his side’s 3-0 win, with the defender making one clearance off the line and netting in the second half to pick up a rating of 9.2.

In goal, unsurprisingly, is Newcastle United’s Tim Krul after the Dutchman put in a fine performance to deny Tottenham Hotspur in Sunday’s 1-0 win. Krul made an impressive 14 saves at White Hart Lane, the most of any goalkeeper in a single match in Europe’s top five leagues this season, and was deserving of his rating of 10.
