Ellington carried the ball 11 times for 55 yards and caught two passes for 18 yards during the Cardinals' 27-24 win over the Texans on Sunday. For those who want to split hairs and criticize that he didn't get the 15-20 touches coach Bruce Arians promised, he was targeted four times in the passing game, so had he held onto those, he would have hit that 15-touch mark.
Ellington continues to out-produce Rashard Mendenhall each and every week, yet Arians continues to use the veteran most of the time. Still, with roughly 15 to 20 touches per game, Ellington's explosiveness should make him a worthwhile flex play each week moving forward.
