Clutch performances defined the latest weekend of high school football action, which represented the final stretch of regular-season competition in many regions of the country. Players destined to compete at the collegiate level continue to cap off excellent prep careers with the playoffs looming large.
Every week, we review the top senior standouts from a busy slate of matchups. Here's a peek at the players who stepped up for their respective teams.
Plant City High School standout Landon Galloway gave a strong performance on Friday night. The 6'3", 200-pound prospect threw a 56-yard touchdown and rushed for another score in a 28-20 win over Gaither, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
He primarily plays quarterback at Plant City but projects as a receiver in college. Galloway committed to UCF in June.
Plano West playmaker Auston Anderson asserted himself early and often in a 42-17 win at Plano East. The 5'9", 180-pound running back carried the ball 21 times for 214 yards and a touchdown, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Anderson opted to commit to Northwestern in May. His offer list also includes Texas, UCLA, Baylor and Arkansas.
Deerfield Beach playmaker Brandon Powell impressed in a 22-7 win over perennial power St. Thomas Aquinas. The 5'9", 170-pound athlete rushed for 130 yards to help his squad stay unbeaten, according to the Miami Herald.
He scored on touchdown runs of 30 and 50 yards. Powell committed to Miami in August.
Tyler Henderson headlined a strong effort by the Collins Hill offense in a 45-34 victory over Mill Creek. He rushed for 201 yards and three scores on 18 carries, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
His effort featured a 74-yard scoring scamper. Henderson holds offers from Old Dominion, Air Force and Buffalo.
Cedartown High School star Nick Chubb continues to cruise in the late stages of a dominant senior season. The 5'11", 216-pound running back rushed for 278 yards on 27 carries in a 40-27 victory over Ridgeland, per MaxPreps.
Chubb has churned out more than 2,600 yards this season. He is committed to Georgia.
Versatile Miami Northwestern playmaker Jojo Robinson pushed his team to a dramatic victory over Jackson. The 6'0", 175-pond prospect sent the game into overtime with a late six-yard touchdown run and scored on the ensuing two-point conversion, according to the Miami Herald.
Robinson then rushed for a touchdown on Northwestern's first possession of the extra session to give his team the win. He is committed to Florida State.
All Saints Episcopal star Foster Sawyer continues to carve up defenses. The 6'5", 215-pound passer punished defenders Friday night, accumulating 308 yards on 11 completions, per the Dallas Morning News.
Sawyer's scintillating effort included five touchdown tosses. He picked TCU over offers from Alabama, Missouri and Oklahoma State in April.
Miami Central running back Dalvin Cook keyed a dominant offensive effort in a 28-3 win over fellow Florida power University. The 5'11", 190-pound prospect plowed through defenders on his way to 136 yards on 19 carries, according to the Miami Herald.
Cook rushed for three touchdowns in the win. He committed to Florida in April.
Wide receiver Fonzale Davis decimated his defensive counterparts throughout a commanding win. He caught nine passes for 216 yards in a 48-14 victory over Kimball, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Davis' output featured three touchdown receptions. He committed to North Texas over Colorado State and Nevada in July.
Cedar Hill High School defensive end Xavier Washington was absolutely dominant in a 40-14 win over Midlothian. He collected 10 tackles and three sacks in the victory, according to the Dallas Morning News.
The 6'1", 230-pound prospect also forced a pair of fumbles. His offer list includes Air Force, Nevada and Houston.
Gainesville star quarterback Deshaun Watson will assuredly graduate as Georgia's all-time leader in passing yards—he set the record as a junior—but it remains to be seen how great that total will be when his career wraps up. He showed off his skills again during a 55-45 win over Flowery Branch.
Watson tallied six total touchdowns, adding more than 200 yards on the ground, per MaxPreps. He committed to Clemson during his sophomore year.
Leonard Fournette continues to cement his legacy as one of Louisiana's finest running backs in recent memory. The 6'1", 226-pound prospect showed off his receiving skills during a 34-14 win over Jesuit.
He caught seven passes for 242 yards, scoring two touchdowns from more than 60 yards out, according to NOLA.com. He is still weighing offers from Alabama, LSU, USC, Texas A&M and Florida.
Northwestern High School quarterback Mason Rudolph helped his team cap off an unbeaten regular season with another dominant performance through the air. The 6'4", 210-pound prospect completed 22 passes for 321 yards, per The Herald.
He threw five touchdowns strikes and rushed for more than 100 yards in a 66-19 win. Rudolph is committed to Oklahoma State.
Station Camp wide receiver Josh Malone ranks among the nation's most coveted uncommitted offensive prospects. He proved his value again in a playoff game against Franklin.
Malone caught 11 passes for 224 yards and three touchdowns, according to The Tennessean. He added an interception in a 24-17 win and is considering offers from Florida State, Tennessee, Ohio State, Georgia and Clemson.
Hood rumbled for five touchdowns, including a 76-yard sprint on his second carry. He is committed to North Carolina.
Quarterback Will Grier continues to gain momentum as a national player of the year candidate. He completed 21 of his 23 pass attempts for 439 yards in a Friday night win over Cannon.
The Davidson Day star threw nine touchdown passes in a 59-0 victory, per GatorCounty.com. The Florida commit now has 62 touchdown tosses this season.
