Denver Broncos tight end Julius Thomas exploded back on to the scene in Week 10 against the San Diego Chargers in an offensive-minded showdown.
In the first half, Thomas caught just two passes but turned them into 92 yards and a score—including this 74-yard hookup with Peyton Manning:
Thomas finished his day with three catches for 96 yards and a score, but it was his big first half that owners likely loved.
Owners likely collectively released bated breath over the touchdown in the first. Thomas had entered the contest without breaking 41 yards in three straight games and he failed to record a touchdown in Week 8 (Denver had a bye in Week 9) against a very weak Washington defense.
There is always an intricate risk with Thomas in fantasy because there are so many other playmakers for Manning to utilize, such as Wes Welker, Demaryius Thomas and Erick Decker. Still, owners can rest assured that Thomas remains a No. 1 fantasy tight end.
As long as Thomas is healthy, he remains a top tight end in the NFL thanks to Manning's reliance on him and Denver's overall explosive offense. Like any Manning weapon, things will be hit-or-miss at times, but at such a mediocre fantasy position, few rise above Thomas in terms of value each week as he showed against San Diego.
