Scott, who was obtained by the Breakers in a January trade with the Chicago Red Stars, netted her first WPS goal to force a 1-1 draw vs. the Washington Freedom last week.
But, her true mission on the field is not truly to score. She'll leave that up to fellow Brit and apartment mate, Kelly Smith. Scott's reason for being is truly to serve as one of the stalwart defenders for the Breakers.
She has played every minute of the Breaker's first seven games and has an assist to go with her game equalizing goal.
On the International circuit, Scott has appeared in all of England’s matches this season, which included qualifying for the UEFA Women’s EURO 2009 tournament later this summer in Finland.
She helped England capture the 2009 Cyprus Cup—defeating Canada in the finals, and was a member of England’s 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup Team, which advanced to the quarterfinals against the USA.
Scott has been a member of the English National team since 2004, debuting in September 2004 against Holland. She scored her first goal with the English National Team against Hungary in October 2005.
As a club player, Scott began playing for the Arsenal Ladies (youth teams) when she was only eight years old.
She helped the Arsenal Ladies to the “quadruple” by winning the English Women’s Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, as well as UEFA Women’s Cup (Europe’s top club competition).
She also scored 20 career goals with the Gunners, including the only goal in the 2007 UEFA Women’s Cup Final against Swedish club Umea IK, led by Marta, and was part of the Arsenal team that won the FA Cup, League Cup, and Women’s Premier League several times each.
Prior to coming to Boston, Scott was a teacher for two years, teaching sport science studies to 16-18 year-old students. She also obtained her certificates in personal training and sports massage therapy.
When not defending, scoring, or teaching, Scott cares for her two boxer dogs, which have stayed behind in England for the season.
