The vast number of players included in FIFA 14 Ultimate Team makes it extremely difficult to whittle down who is worth your time and who should be disregarded.

Quite often, underrated individuals are overlooked for more obviously talented specimens. This is particularly apparent in the Premier League, where there's a plethora of players to wade through at all levels.

With this in mind, let's outline three tasty treats who are easy to pass over when you're looking to strengthen your squad.

FUT14 Underrated Premier League Gems

Emyr Huws, Manchester City

Little-known Welshman Emyr Huws may only be 20, but he's an interesting prospect for any relevant bronze teams.

The clever midfielder must be played alongside a physically imposing teammate to flaunt his true abilities. Don't buy Huws expecting great defensive output; he should be snapped for teams that need a little creativity from central positions.

Huws' Balance is rated at 82, toppling many gold items and highlighting why he's so tricky to remove from possession.

Give him a little cover and see the emerging player thrive.

David Marshall, Cardiff City

Although a top-range silver item, David Marshall is good enough to represent your gold side.

The Cardiff stopper regularly makes stunning saves, the kind of stops that are more commonly performed by the game's highest rated No. 1's. This is largely down to Marshall's all-round quality.

His Diving, Kicking, Positioning and Reflexes are rated in the 70s, with Handling at 69. The experienced Scot isn't weighed down with weakness and has a terrific ability to recover from unsavoury positions.

Paulinho, Tottenham Hotspur

Paulinho is a complete midfielder, blessed with the tenacity to defend and creative mind to attack.

Paulinho has already shown what he's all about in the Premier League. Those who favour combative central midfielders with a natural desire to get forward should look no further. The Brazilian's H/M work rates and all-round talents make him extremely worthwhile, especially considering how cheap he is.

The player's 92-rated Stamina ensures he will maintain pressure throughout 90 minutes and is unlikely to need a break away from darting across the pitch.

With Interceptions, Positioning and Vision rated at 82, 81 and 80 respectively, Paulinho's natural talents will help you assert control in the middle of the pitch.
