In the midst of a beatdown at the hands of No. 5 Stanford, the No. 3 Oregon Ducks also lost one of their best offensive players when senior star wideout Josh Huff went down with an injury late.
Per Steve Mims of The Register-Guard, Huff suffered a serious-looking injury and was down for an extended period:
And now Josh Huff is hurt. Said he didn't need stretcher, but got up and now back down.— Steve Mims (@SteveMims_RG) November 8, 2013
Andrew Greif of The Oregonian echoed the chilling report:
Josh Huff started jogging off the field, then stopped about 10 yards in and went to the field again. Trainers attending.— Andrew Greif (@AndrewGreif) November 8, 2013
The broadcast reported that Huff was taken to the locker room for further evaluation.
It's a major loss for the Ducks, as Huff had entered the game with more than 700 receiving yards and six scores, including more than 100 yards in half of his games.
The senior caught just three receptions for 42 yards before leaving the game. Oregon and quarterback Marcus Mariota have plenty of work to do with major games against Utah, Arizona and Oregon State on the schedule, and the task is immensely more difficult should Huff miss an extended period of time.
