The fact that Manny Ramirez has good success against the Yankees and at Yankee Stadium could be one of the biggest understatements in history.  Manny Ramirez kills the Yankees and it is their own fault.

Without taking anything away from how great a hitter Manny is, the New York Yankees pitching staff has allowed him to become the greatest opposing hitter ever to step foot in the “House that Ruth built” by making him comfortable in the Bronx.

Last night, that level of comfort was disrupted by a 97 mph fastball, from the arm of Kyle Farnsworth that was long overdue.  It had nothing to do with the bat flip or Manny being Manny as that whole sport calls his ridiculous actions.

It had nothing to do with the Red Sox continually drilling both Jeter and A-Rod.  It had to do with a Yankees pitcher finally saying, I've had enough and it's about time.  All it took was Ramirez hitting 29 home runs at Yankee Stadium.

While there is no telling if Manny will return to his previous comfort level tonight or through out the remainder of the season, this was a much needed attempt to stop Ramirez's killing of the Yankees, one that was long overdue.

  1. That was about as cheap as they come. You don't throw at someones head and that is that. A-rod should be shaking in his cleats the next time they meet

  2. You're giving Farnsworth more credit for pitch control than he currently deserves. We've seen Farnsworth walk .200 hitters on 4 straight pitches. So when a brushback pitch is off target, suddenly he's head hunting?
