Julian Draxler spoke exclusively with Bleacher Report after Schalke suffered a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea in the Champions League on Wednesday and hinted he could soon be swapping the Veltins-Arena for Stamford Bridge.
The 20-year-old German has seen his name linked with a number of high-profile clubs in recent months, with Chelsea reportedly among his ever-growing list of admirers, according to the Mirror.
His stock has continued to rise after his impressive performance against the Blues in a game Schalke was unfortunate not to have taken anything from, despite the scoreline.
“We are very disappointed,” he said of the mood in the Schalke dressing room. “Chelsea are a great team, and we were not clever enough to beat them.”
It was Draxler’s first visit to Stamford Bridge, and when asked if Chelsea fans will be seeing more of him in West London, Draxler did little to reject any speculation.
“You never, you never know,” he said. “I think [Stamford Bridge is] a great stadium. It’s a great team and a great coach.”
