California Preseason Comments
The Bears season will ride on two major games this season. And unfortunately, it doesn’t start off too good. The Bears have the Tennessee Volunteers right out of the starting gate, and not to mention USC during the final leg of the race for the Pac 10. Nate Longshore had an impressive outing in the Holiday Bowl, and Justin Forsett will be a valuable replacement to Marshawn Lynch. Syd’Quan Thompson and Darian Fagan will step up for the defense, these guys will live and die by the play of Matt Malele at DT. For a legitimate shot at putting pressure on the Trojans come November 10th, the Bears have to beat Tennessee above beating the rest of the Pac 10.

Cal has the ultimate game-breaker in DeSean Jackson (Think Ted Ginn speed with better production at wide receiver). Jeff Tedford should utilize Jackson’s talents in the West Coast offense. Cal has a dynamic offense and if it can stop other teams from scoring, it will contend for a January Bowl bid.

DeSean Jackson may be the most exciting player in the country. This team has the talent to take down USC at home.

Will this be the year for Tedford’s team to take the next step?
