Fernando Torres made a return from a thigh injury on Tuesday as Chelsea lost 1-0 to Basel in the Champions League.

Torres was introduced just before halftime for the injured Samuel Eto'o, as reported by the club's official Twitter account:

Eto'o is stretchered off the pitch straight down the tunnel, Torres the man to replace him. 42 minutes played. #CFCLive
