Dwight Howard is The Great Defender.

Now we all know Howard can be massive in the paint and contest shots around the rim, but we are referring to his latest turn on the Disney XD network.

As For the Win's Sean Highkin reports, the Rockets star will play the part of superhero on Monday's episode of Mighty Med, airing at 8:30 p.m. ET.

This isn't the first time the NBA big man will feature on the channel. As the LA Times' Mark Medina reported back in 2012, Howard as well as ESPN's Tony Reali offered their voices for the cartoon Kick Buttkowski: Suburban Daredevil.

Knowing that you want to hear what Howard sounds like as the fictional daredevil Rock Callahan, we will provide you with the YouTube link here

And welcome back.

Howard spoke with Highkin about his role in an early October report. At the time, the 27-year-old gave fans a glimpse into the episode.

"My character is great at blocking things." The show revolves around characters at a hospital for superheroes. It makes sense that Howard would have otherworldly powers. He adds, "I can fly, too."

He also said that his "freeze throws" need some work, wrapping up the cameo with a nice little realistic bow.

We will refrain from saying Howard is "back" in regards to his pop culture image. The man who once invigorated fans with his Superman persona has been lambasted in recent years for the way he left the Orlando Magic.

Things are certainly far more positive for Howard. Coach Kevin McHale stated recently that Howard is far healthier this season. He is averaging 15 points and 17 boards in the infancy of the year and is now a superhero on Disney XD

Yes, things could be much worse for Howard, despite having no confidence in his freeze throws.
