Tania Ganguli from ESPN reported that Foster was questionable to return due to the back injury:

He had yet to register a carry but was targeted once in the passing game before leaving.

The Sunday Night Football Twitter account reported that Foster walked back out in street clothes, meaning that he was clearly done for the night:

The injury is obviously a big blow for the Houston Texans. They will now have to work with Ben Tate, who is dealing with a few broken ribs in his own right.

Foster was actually a game-time decision heading into the game against the Colts. He was dealing with a hamstring injury that had taken him out of a game against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 7.

It's been a pretty solid season for Foster when he has been healthy. He's carried the ball 121 times for 542 yards and a touchdown, averaging 4.5 yards per carry.
