McFadden said he is still sore from the hamstring injury -- his second this season -- and added that he needed the extra time off as a precaution.
"To me, I could have been back last week but I just have to take my time with it," he said. "I don't want to. I know if I rush it back again this time it will probably be over for the season. So I want to just be able to make sure it's all the way back right before I get out there again."

Jerry McDonald of the Contra Costa Times provided statements from Raiders head coach Dennis Allen discussing the team's backfield situation:
Raiders coach Dennis Allen said if McFadden is "fully healthy," both backs would play, but it doesn't sound as if Jennings is taking a back seat to anyone.
"You can't deny Rashad Jennings over the last month of the season has led the NFL in yards from scrimmage," Allen said. "I think he's earned the right and deserves the right to continue to get his carries and touches and we'll still do that."
McDonald followed with a statement from Darren McFadden discussing his injury woes:
There's always something. To me, like it's something small, like an ankle, a hamstring, or turf toe or something. You try to stay positive and keeping working hard and moving forward.

From Jerry McDonald of InsideBayArea.com:
Nothing definitive on QB Terrelle Pryor (knee) or RB Darren McFadden (hamstring) although Allen notes hamstrings can be more tricky.— Jerry McDonald (@Jerrymcd) November 4, 2013
Before leaving the game, McFadden managed just 12 yards on five carries and caught one pass for three yards.
McFadden was the fourth overall pick in the 2008 NFL draft and has flashed that type of promise when he's been on the field. The problem is that injuries have slowed down his career, as he has never played a full 16-game season.
There is still time for the 26-year-old to get back on track, but his window to be a surefire star in the NFL is closing. If this setback proves to be of the long-term variety, it may encourage the Raiders to part ways with their talented back following the 2013 season.
The six-year, $60 million deal McFadden signed as a rookie expires after this year, making him an unrestricted free agent. With his inconsistent ability to stay on the gridiron, his future in Oakland is rather cloudy.
Expect backup Rashad Jennings to see an increase in touches while McFadden is out of action.
