Andre Johnson a Safe No. 1 Fantasy WR with Case Keenum's Emergence
On Sunday, any doubt of Andre Johnson's status as a No. 1 fantasy receiver was unequivocally erased thanks to a strong performance from quarterback Case Keenum.
Johnson was always a No. 1 receiver with Matt Schaub under center until recent weeks, but his status took an immense hit with the inexperienced Keenum calling the shots.
Not anymore. Keenum came out red hot in Week 9 against the Indianapolis Colts and before halftime, Johnson had brought in seven receptions for 190 yards and two touchdowns on a team-leading 10 targets.
By the end of the game, Johnson has caught nine passes for 229 yards and three scores.
Now, Johnson will not keep up this kind of production all season long, but he's easily the No. 1 option in the offense and a clear safety valve for Keenum. With Keenum proving effective, accurate and dependent on Johnson, Johnson's stock remains as high as it has ever been.
It's also important to note the Texans will not always be fortunate enough to face a secondary as weak as the one faced in Week 9, but the remainder of the schedule is not too difficult and Johnson is the type of producer who rises above the matchup anyway.
With Keenum under center, Johnson is a lock as a No. 1 each week.
