Shonn Greene Will Hurt Chris Johnson's Fantasy Status as Touchdown Vulture
Being a Chris Johnson fantasy owner has always been frustrating. Now that Shonn Greene appears to be locked in as the Tennessee Titans' goal-line back, CJ2K owners can expect that frustration to only increase.
On Wednesday, Titans head coach Mike Munchak said that Greene should receive about 15 carries or so per game, according to Kevin Patra of NFL.com. And while he was on pace for far less carries than that in Sunday's first half against the St. Louis Rams—he had just two carries for nine yards—it was Greene and not Johnson who had a rushing touchdown.
Greene missed five games already this season with a knee injury and had just one carry against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7, but it's clear coming out of the bye that the Titans want to utilize him more frequently.
While CJ2K will still see the majority of the snaps, it looks like a pretty safe that he'll have to score his touchdowns on big plays. Once the Titans move the ball inside of the 10-yard-line, expect to see plenty of Greene moving forward.
