Mike Tolbert Is a Must-Add for Fantasy Owners
For the fifth time in six games, Mike Tolbert of the Carolina Panthers found pay dirt on Sunday.
It didn't take Tolbert long to reward fantasy owners who took a chance on rostering and starting the running back on Sunday, as he rumbled into the end zone on a four-yard touchdown run in the first quarter against the Atlanta Falcons.
While many fantasy players may be concerned about the return of Jonathan Stewart further muddling the Panthers' backfield—Stewart, DeAngelo Williams and Mike Tolbert were each given touches in the first half—Tolbert appears to have carved out a role in red zone situations for himself.
He's a traditional vulture—and it's always a bit frightening when a player's value is so closely tied to touchdown production—but he's definitely worth a stash, especially with so much uncertainty at the running back position this season.
The Panthers know their bread is buttered in the run game, so expect Tolbert to continue getting a limited amount of carries but a good portion of the opportunities near the red zone.
