Updates from Wednesday, Nov. 13

Arsenal have suggested to Roy Hodgson and his England medical staff that Jack Wilshere should only play in one of the two forthcoming friendlies against Chile and Germany.

Wilshere is still attempting to overcome a troublesome ankle problem and the Gunners are convinced ample rest would be beneficial to the midfielder, per Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail:

Wenger believes it would be beneficial for Wilshere to play in just one of the friendlies, and has relayed his opinion to the England boss.

Wenger is now hopeful that his star midfielder will only play against Chile on Friday and skip Tuesday’s clash against Germany ...

Wilshere has been put on a specially-devised training programme to allow his problematic ankle to recover between games.

The long-term problem reacts differently after every match and club medics are paying special attention to the joint.
