Former Diva Eden Stiles, aka Brandi Runnels, announced on her official Twitter account earlier Friday that she is set to return to WWE action.
Runnels noted to her followers that she was due to report to WWE's new performance center to begin training for her in-ring comeback this coming Monday.
The former model signed with WWE in early 2011, spending most of her stint as a ring announcer on Superstars and, occasionally, SmackDown. As Diva Dirt noted, she parted with ways with the company in December 2011 after asking for, and being granted, her release.
Of course, her involvement in wrestling didn't quite end there. Runnels recently recently married WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes. The two began dating while she was still under contract.
The marriage has been frequently referenced on television over the past few months, likely to emphasize the heartlessness of the newly turned Triple H, who callously fired Rhodes on-screen only weeks before the big day.
Cody, of course, earned his way back in and is now one half of the WWE Tag Team champions, with his once-stagnant career being revived mainly thanks to this angle.
WWE.com even interviewed the new Mrs. Runnels after her husband and his brother won back their jobs at Battleground pay-per-view last month. The company also posted a gallery of classic photos from the Diva's brief spell there.
It's not really a surprise WWE has made the call to give the Diva another shot. She's very photogenic and has the good looks the company usually requires in its female performers. Time will tell whether she will make an adequate wrestler, but at least she seems eager to learn.
Crucially, there's also a ready-made angle for her with both her husband and brother-in-law if she's to get called up to the main roster again.
Could the Rhodes' brothers be getting a new valet soon?
