David Moyes has suggested Robin van Persie should be fit for Manchester United’s upcoming Premier League fixture against Fulham.

The Red Devils boss also confirmed Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand are available for the trip to Craven Cottage, while Danny Welbeck is unlikely to feature, per the club’s official website and Twitter account:

On top of that, midfielder Michael Carrick has been ruled doubtful for Fulham as well, according to a report on United's official site

The England international will be assessed ahead of the game after sitting out the Capital One Cup victory against Norwich City in midweek when manager David Moyes made a number of changes to the team.

"Michael's got a bit of a problem with his calf and Achilles," Moyes revealed to MUTV's Countdown to Kick-off. "But we don't think he is too bad."

Moyes has been forced to monitor Van Persie’s fitness in recent weeks. The Dutch striker continues to receive injections for a niggling toe injury and is worried he could cause long-term damage, as reported by The Times and via ESPN.

As quoted on United's official website, the manager expects his star forward to feature: "Van Persie has been fine. He's trained well and worked quite well this week so hopefully he will be okay."

United’s prolific forward sat out of the midweek Capital One Cup victory over Norwich—a match that saw Javier Hernandez bag himself a brace, which Moyes was pleased to witness:

Both Vidic and Ferdinand missed United’s recent Champions League clash with Real Sociedad, but did take part in the aforementioned fixture against the Canaries.

As defensive frailties continue to trouble the Old Trafford faithful—such as conceding four against Manchester City and two against Stoke—Moyes will be pleased to welcome back the experienced duo.

Welbeck’s great start to the season, which saw him net two goals in the opening day win over Swansea, continues to be unravelled through injury and a lack of playing time.

The 22-year-old last appeared in the 1-1 draw with Southampton on Oct. 19, per Who Scored, and has fallen victim to having fluid on his knee:

Manchester United cannot afford to lose against Fulham if they are to challenge for the Premier League title. Moyes' men are already eight points off the pace with three losses in nine games and must establish a run of consecutive victories to sustain pressure on Arsenal at the top.
