Manchester United Now Have More Twitter Followers Than Manchester City
In a social media victory for Manchester United, the Red Devils have just eclipsed Manchester City in the number of Twitter followers they possess.
Manchester United have now got 1.28 million on their account, compared to City's 1.27m.
United were somewhat slower to join Twitter, too—as their 2,000-odd tweets would indicate, in comparison to Manchester City's 42,000.
As the Manchester Evening News explains:
The Reds account, active for less than four months, now boasts 1.28m followers while the Blues', up and running for more than four years, totals 1.27m.
United launched their own account in July - shortly after the retirement of legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson - who once famously branded the social network 'a waste of time'.
Despite that, however, City fans can point to the small matter of the league table when it comes to having the edge on their crosstown rivals.
