Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports that Elisbury is close to signing a mega deal with Boston's biggest rival:

Star free agent outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury is in serious talks with the Yankees and the sides appear to be close to reaching a seven-year deal. sources said.

"It could happen," said someone familiar with the talks.

It is believed the deal would exceeed Carl Crawford's $142-million, seven-year deal.

Mark Feinsand of the NY Daily News and Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports added:

Just minutes later, Feinsand reported that the two sides had indeed agreed to terms:

The Yankees' deal with Ellsbury is done, pending a physical. I'm told the contract is bigger than Crawford's 7 year/$142M deal.
