The Boston Red Sox are World Series champions once again.

The Red Sox won their third World series in the last decade and eighth in franchise history by beating the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 6 on Wednesday night by a score of 6-1.

And there it is. Congrats #redsox

Boston closer Koji Uehara struck out Matt Carpenter for the final out of the game.

The Red Sox won a game that was decided fairly early, as they jumped out to a 6-0 advantage by the fourth inning and made sure the Fenway faithful got some bang for their buck.

It's been a while since the Red Sox won a World Series in front of their home fans:

The Boston Red Sox have won their third World Series in 10 years. This team lost 93 games a year ago.

Last time @RedSox clinched #WorldSeries at home? 1918, 95 years ago.

The Red Sox took full advantage of winning at home, partying like it was 1918.

David Ortiz was named World Series MVP for his ridiculous performance in the Fall Classic. He hit .688/.760/1.188 with two home runs, six RBI, seven runs scored and eight walks.

Ortiz was only retired five times in six games, with one of those outs being when Carlos Beltran robbed him of a grand slam in Game 1.

Big Papi was clutch, and the 37-year-old was properly honored for his fantastic performance.

Ortiz probably knew he was going to be named MVP, and he definitely knew he was going to be in the middle of the celebration, regardless. He came well-prepared for the party, wearing a helmet to protect himself.

Of COURSE @davidortiz was wearing a helmet when he lifted Koji. Why not. #WorldSeries

Hahaha love David Ortiz strapped up with a helmet already, know there's gonna be some intense partyin tonight/continuin on the next few days

The party didn't end on the field, however, as it continued in the locker room.

After a nightmare 2012 campaign in which they finished in last place in their division, the Red Sox rebounded in the best way possible.

It wasn't an easy road for John Farrell and the BoSox, but the season ends with a ring for each of them.

It was a crazy season and an even crazier Fall Classic, but when it's all said and done, the Red Sox are your 2013 World Series champs.

Congrats, Boston.
