It appears Metta World Peace enjoyed a nice leisurely subway ride to Madison Square Garden before his first regular season game as a member the New York Knicks.
Newsday reporter Jim Baumbach documented the ride on Twitter:
.@MettaWorldPeace grew wistful on train talking about how much he rode this line to basketball games as a kid. Remembered most of the stops.— Jim Baumbach (@jimbaumbach) October 30, 2013
"I never thought this day would come," @MettaWorldPeace said while riding the F train from Queensbridge to the Garden.— Jim Baumbach (@jimbaumbach) October 30, 2013
When F train reached 34th Street, @MettaWorldPeace stopped talking. "This is us."— Jim Baumbach (@jimbaumbach) October 30, 2013
ESPN's Ian Begley shared World Peace's reason for taking the subway:
Metta World Peace on taking the subway instead of driving to MSG. "It's easier ... Bloomberg has too many rules on the street." #Knicks— Ian Begley (@IanBegley) October 30, 2013
The Knicks open up their season against the Milwaukee Bucks.
