Gareth Bale marked his first home start for Real Madrid with a first-half goal against Sevilla on Wednesday night.

The Welsh midfielder, who joined Real Madrid on a world-record transfer from Tottenham Hotspur over the summer, put his side ahead with a finish into the top corner in the 12th minute.

Karim Benzema provided the assist, rolling the ball across the box for Bale, who used a touch to set up his favoured left foot.

Bale added a second goal in the 26th minute, a deflected free kick.
