The release of WWE 2K14 on Tuesday created a frenzy among video game and wrestling enthusiasts, and the excitement has shifted to the new and improved modes that make this a must-own edition.

The following portions of the game will have hardcore and casual wrestling fans alike ready for more action, and the history lessons will help them learn even more about the lineage of the sport.

"30 Years of WrestleMania" Mode

The greatest addition to this year’s game is the 30 Years of WrestleMania mode. As the follow-up to the Attitude Era mode from last year’s edition, the newest portion of the game takes the fans through the annals of WrestleMania history.

With 47 WrestleMania matches and storylines available, fans will be treated to some of the most important moments in WWE history. Wrestling fans will be able to inject themselves into the moments that made the sport great.

The game play in the mode will be the same as the rest of the game to ensure the most possible success for owners, but with improved visuals and different filters that help accentuate the stories being told, this feels like several different games in one.

The 30 Years of WrestleMania mode alone makes this game worth the purchase.

"Streak" Mode

Undertaker is one of the greatest Superstars of all time, and his streak at WrestleMania has become synonymous with the company's biggest event. Now, gamers have a chance to live the streak alongside Undertaker or do their best to take it down.

The first option for fans will be to defend Undertaker’s streak. Players will have to beat as many Superstars in a row as they can, and that score can be uploaded for comparison with others.

The second option is for fans who want to defeat Undertaker’s streak. According to the official website, the Deadman has an “arsenal of special abilities seen only inside this mode.”

That means he's incredibly tough to beat.

Whether you choose to do both modes or want to use only one, few fans won't want to be a part of the most legendary winning streak in sports entertainment history.

"Universe" Mode

Often dubbed "Career" mode in other sports games, the Universe mode in WWE2K14 offers fans the chance to book and control the WWE in any way they see fit. This is a wrestling fan's dream come true.

The biggest improvement comes in the ability to dictate and control the rivalries from show to show. Not only can you control the superstars involved in the battle, but you can also control how long the feud lasts.

Add the fact that gamers can now book the King of the Ring tournament on a pay-per-view in this mode, and there is little doubt this will be the best Universe mode in the franchise’s history.
