Oakland Raiders Theme Songs

Yama HazheerCorrespondent IIMay 25, 2009

The Oakland Raiders have interesting personalities on the team. Whether they are on or off the field, they mostly face criticism. The media attempts to expose the negative aspects of the players.

The Raiders won more games than the winless Detroit Lions this past season, yet people bashed Oakland more.

Each player on this team is different, and some of them deserve their own theme songs. I have listened to a number of songs and will match a few of the players on this team with a song and a valid reason to why the song is their theme song.

JaMarcus Russell: "Numb" - Linkin Park

"I'm tired of being what you want me to be
Feeling so faithless, lost under the surface
I don't know what you're expecting of me
Put under the pressure of walking in your shoes"

Russell has arguably been the most criticized player in the NFL ever since he's been drafted. Everyone wants him to live up to his potential, but he hasn't been surrounded with help. He had a weak offensive line, receivers who didn't step up, and coaching changes.

The unfair criticism of Russell should be put to an end. If he under-performs this season, maybe you can pick on him, but for now, give the man a chance.

Darrius Heyward-Bey: "Hate Me Now" - Nas

"You can hate me now.. but I won't stop now..
Cause I can't stop now.. you can hate me now..
But I won't stop now.. cause I can't stop now..
You can hate me now.. you can hate me NOWWWW..
Don't hate me, hate the money I see, clothes that I buy
Ice that I wear, clothes that I try, close your eyes"

From DHB to Mel Kiper Jr. and the rest of those ESPN clowns that were hating on him. Heyward-Bey will show that you can hate on him all you want but he will prove to be one of the best wide receivers in this draft. He also doesn't have a "me over the team" attitude like others. *cough* Crabtree *cough*

Nnamdi Asomugha: "Wouldn't Get Far" - The Game

This is for all the receivers that go against the best corner in the game. The lyrics don't match his play, but the title is for the poor guys that have to face Asomugha.

Darren McFadden: "I'm Coming" - Silkk The Shocker

"Nobody could stop me, nobody could hold me, ain't nobody control me.
I'm coming!
I'm here to do my thing, I'm here to bring the pain, I'm never ever gonna change!
I'm coming!"

McFadden is going to be a beast, and no one will be able to contain him. He has untapped potential and will be one of the better running backs in the league when his time comes.

Tom Cable: "Lost" - Gorilla Zoe

"I think I'm losin it
I might be losin it
I just might lose
Am I losin my mind?
And I'm so confused I don't know what to do
And I need a clue before I run out of time
Am I losin it?
Am I losin it?
I think I'm losin
I'm losin my mind
Am I losin it?
Am I losin it?
I think I'm losin
I'm losin my mind"

Is he going to coach the Raiders or be fired? Knowing Al Davis, if Cable does not have the Raiders start the season off well, he might be out of the job soon. That is why "Lost" is his theme song. He's paranoid about his job, and it's making him lose his mind.

Oakland Raiders Fanbase: "Swagga Like Us" - T.I. feat. Kanye West, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne

"No one on the corner have swagga like us
Swagga like us, swagga swagga like us
No one on the corner have swagga like us
Swagga like us, swagga swagga like us"

Despite the Raiders records these previous seasons, the fanbase has remained loyal and strong. No other fanbase supports a team as much through the rough times like the Oakland fans. We are the best fans in the whole league, and no one on the corner has swagga like us.
