Jeff Cumberland: Week 9 Fantasy Outlook

RotoWireContributor October 29, 2013

The suspension of fellow tight end Kellen Winslow was supposed to vault Cumberland into fantasy relevance. However, that has not materialized thus far. Cumberland has eight catches for 109 yards and zero touchdowns over his last three games for the Jets. He also suffered a mild concussion in Sunday's blowout loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Cumberland has been targeted 14 times over his last three contests, but it appears that opposing defenses are aware of the lack of a game-breaking wide receiver on the Jets and are focusing on shutting down the safety valve for rookie quarterback Geno Smith. Still, Cumberland should receive his fair share of targets Sunday as the Jets attempt to keep pace with the high-octane Saints, assuming he is deemed healthy.
