Geno Smith: Week 9 Fantasy Outlook

RotoWireContributor October 29, 2013

The Saints defense has been resurrected by defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, and as a result Smith will have to be at the top of his game against New Orleans on Sunday. New Orleans is allowing just 17.1 points per game this season, good for fourth in the NFL.
Smith will likely be forced to pass a lot in this contest, as the Jets figure to be coming from behind. Smith was anemic last week against the Bengals, throwing two interceptions and racking up just 159 yards through the air. He could be facing exotic blitz packages from Rex Ryan's brother, and though the Jets' coach may be able to give Geno some hints, he won't be out there on the field with Smith. As a result, Smith should only be used in desperate situations.
