Charles had 18 carries for 74 rushing yards and five catches on seven targets for 46 receiving yards Sunday against the Browns. He failed to score for the first time this season.
Week 8 held an interesting game for one of the NFL’s best running backs. On one hand, an aggressive Browns defense did little to deter the explosiveness of Charles. On the other, teammate Dexter McCluster recorded arguably the best game of his career and has been emerging as a complementary threat in the Kansas City offense. The consequences of this development remain to be seen, but it is highly unlikely the offense does anything but revolve around Charles in the short and long term.
