With the Minnesota Vikings at just 1-6 heading into Week 9, the team appears ready to turn its attention to the future. As a result, the Vikings could be an active participant leading up to Tuesday's NFL trade deadline.
According to Fox Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer via Twitter, the Vikings will consider moving beloved defensive star Jared Allen this fall if they can find a willing trade partner:
Vikings would be willing to trade Jared Allen for the right price. Makes sense as he's free agent after the year, they've discussed it some— Jay Glazer (@JayGlazer) October 27, 2013
Any contender wanting to trade for Allen will need to give more than a 3 as that's what they could get as compensation if he leaves via FA— Jay Glazer (@JayGlazer) October 27, 2013
The deadline passed and the Vikings did not make a deal.
