Moments after producing one of the misses of the season, Fernando Torres well and truly made amends for Chelsea on Sunday.

The Spaniard provided the assist as Andre Schurrle opened the scoring for the Blues against Manchester City, rounding Gael Clichy with aplomb before producing a pinpoint cutback.

The intervention, moments after he had skewed over from yards out, seemed to revitalise the former Liverpool striker.

Moments later, he produced a shot from nothing that agonisingly rebounded away off the crossbar from an acute angle.
