Predicting Andre Ellington's Week 8 Fantasy Stats vs. Falcons
Andre Ellington's time is now, and fantasy owners would be wise to hop on board.
The Arizona Cardinals rookie running back will finally get the nod as a starter in Week 8 against the Atlanta Falcons per ESPN's Adam Schefter:
Cardinals RB Rashard Mendenhall will not play today vs. Atlanta due to a toe injury; rookie RB Andre Ellington will start.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) October 27, 2013
Before Week 8, Ellington had seen a small role as he adapted to the NFL, but fantasy owners everywhere could see the extreme potential, especially when he was able to break into open space.
Ellington's best day came in Week 6 against a vaunted San Francisco defense when he rushed seven times for 56 yards and a touchdown, but also contributed through the air with five receptions for 36 yards.
Around 12-15 touches is Ellington's ideal role, but he could see even more against an Atlanta defense that ranks in the bottom half against the pass.
While Ellington is only 5'9" and 199 pounds, he's elusive and can score from anywhere on the field. On Sunday against a weak Atlanta defense with Rashard Mendenhall out of the picture, Ellington is easily a No. 2 fantasy back.
Prediction: 10 carries, 65 yards, six receptions, 42 yards and a touchdown.
