Fantasy Football Week 8 Live Tracker

Last week a fantasy football titan made his return.

New England's Rob Gronkowski is back, which adds yet another wrinkle to the fake football realm as we move forward into what is sure to be a wildly unpredictable Week 8 slate of action.

Despite the approach of the halfway point of the season, 2013 has not been kind to owners, thanks to its impossible-to-predict outcomes.

This is no better example than the quarterback position last week. Outside of a guy named Peyton Manning, only four others at the position threw for over 300 yards—Andy Dalton, Chad Henne, Tony Romo and Jake Locker.

Performances at running back have not been any kinder. The expected committee approach in combination with the aerial-assault style of the NFL has all but made the position a wasteland of former stars dabbling with mediocre performers—only Ryan Mathews and Chris Ivory went for over 100 yards last week.

A gander at the Week 8 schedule does not make things any easier, although some potentially highlight-worthy matches abound. Matthew Stafford and Tony Romo should have little issue exploiting each other's shaky secondaries from Ford Field.

The clash between the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles is the definition of a boom-or-bust fantasy matchup. Oh, and the Washington Redskins and Denver Broncos may allow Robert Griffin III and Manning to combine for historical numbers given the state of the opposing defenses.

Last week was tough on fantasy owners, but a major rebound is in the cards. Lock the lineups, get the popcorn and kick back and enjoy the show, because fantasy Sunday is here again.
