St. Louis Cardinals Win World Series Game 3 on Obstruction Call

Tristan ThornburghSocial Media StaffOctober 27, 2016

In a wild ending, the St. Louis Cardinals scored the winning run in Game 3 of the World Series on an obstruction call.

After Yadier Molina was thrown out at the plate, Boston Red Sox catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia made an errant throw to third base that resulted in Boston's Will Middlebrooks colliding with St. Louis' Allen Craig. The collision tripped up Craig, who was attempting to run to home plate.

Thus, Craig was awarded home plate on the obstruction call, giving the Cardinals a 5-4 win. They now have a 2-1 series lead.
