Justin Worley Injury: Updates on Tennessee QB's Thumb, Likely Return Date
To add injury to insult, Justin Worley exited Tennessee's game against Alabama after he hurt his thumb.
The Daily Beacon reported the junior quarterback was replaced by freshman Josh Dobbs:

Prior to leaving the game, Worley had completed eight of 16 passes for 120 yards. He'd also thrown two interceptions, in general having a hard time all game against a stout Crimson Tide defense.
He has been ruled out for four weeks with torn ligaments.
From 247 Sports' Wes Rucker:
Butch: Vols Jr QB Justin Worley out indefinitely after having thumb surgery today. Josh Dobbs will start.— Wes Rucker (@wesrucker247) October 29, 2013
From Jimmy Hyams of WNML:
We've confirmed UT QB Justin Worley will be out about 4 weeks with torn ligaments in right thumb. QB Josh Dobbs will start v. Missouri— Jimmy Hyams (@JimmyHyams) October 29, 2013
From Patrick Brown of the Times Free Press:
Butch says Vols anticipate Worley to be 'full-go' in practice next week.— Patrick Brown (@patrickbrownTFP) October 26, 2013
As a result, the Volunteers found themselves in a 35-0 hole. Worley has been up and down in 2013. On the season, he has 1,320 yards passing, with 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
Since the running game often sets the tone for the Vols, losing Worley may not have a huge impact. What the injury does mean is that Dobbs had to burn his redshirt.
He had previously been standing on the sideline and holding a clipboard in order to be in a better position to take over as the starter down the road. Worley's injury has sped up that process and may mean that the Vols are leaning on a freshman quarterback right in the middle of conference play.
