Mike Davis Injury: South Carolina RB Hurts Leg vs. Missouri
Stop me if you've heard this before: a star South Carolina Gamecocks running backs suffered a leg injury. Mike Davis, a candidate for SEC Player of the Year, went down with what appeared to be a severe right leg injury on Saturday, Oct. 26 against the Missouri Tigers.
Davis walked off of the field under his own power, but it didn't look good.
Eesh--Mike Davis takes a huge blow to his right leg. He walked off the field, but did not look good.— Eye on College FBall (@EyeOnCFB) October 27, 2013
You hate to see this happen to any player, but it's even more tragic due to the recent history of South Carolina running backs.
Gamecocks fans have become too familiar with this story, as star Marcus Lattimore suffered multiple leg injuries during his time at the school. Now, it's Davis who has gone down.
Fortunately, Davis was able to walk off of the field.
Davis entered the game with 879 rushing yards, 10 running scores, 17 receptions and 201 receiving yards through seven games. He'd topped 100 yards on the ground in all but one outing, causing many to label him as one of the top backs in the SEC.
South Carolina ended up defeating Missouri, but the loss of Davis would be a critical blow.
