Oklahoma Scores Minor Upset over Texas Tech in Big 12 Battle
One of the bigger games of the day was between No. 10 Texas Tech and No. 15 Oklahoma, with the Sooners coming away with a big 38-30 win over the Red Raiders.
It was a wild game that went back and forth, but Oklahoma was able to hold on after scoring two straight touchdowns that came at the end of the third quarter and the beginning of the fourth.
The two offenses combined for 975 yards and nine total touchdowns in the game, with the scoring going on through all four quarters. True freshman Davis Webb threw for 374 yards and two touchdowns for Texas Tech, but he also had two critical interceptions.
Meanwhile, Blake Bell was the star for Oklahoma. He only threw 22 times, but he completed 14 passes for 249 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. He also ran for 44 yards on just nine carries.
Damien Williams had a nice game as well for Oklahoma, as he was able to run for 97 yards and three touchdowns on just 19 carries.
Both teams are now 7-1 with a 4-1 record in the Big 12, but they are both behind Texas and Baylor in the conference standings. It's not over just yet, but these two teams are going to need to win out in order to have a shot at winning the Big 12 title.
