Virginia Tech Upset by Duke in ACC Clash
The Duke Blue Devils pulled off a major upset on Saturday, taking down the No. 14 Virginia Tech Hokies.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Blue Devils scored two field goals before the half to go up 6-0. Anthony Boone then ran in for a nine-yard touchdown in the third quarter to go up 13-0, and the Hokies looked to be in real danger.
Logan Thomas tried to bring the Hokies back, running for a five-yard touchdown at the end of the third quarter and leading them to a field goal in the fourth, but he couldn't pull it off as Duke went on to win.
The quarterback play was not pretty in this one. The two quarterbacks combined for two rushing touchdowns, but they also had a combined 321 passing yards with zero touchdowns through the air and eight interceptions.
It wasn't a pretty one, but the Blue Devils were able to pull off the major upset, and now the Hokies will be waiting to see how far they will drop down the BCS rankings.
