Cleveland Indians: Ryan Garko Exceeding Expectations
While the Indians have started the season at a mediocre 5-10 with some struggles, Ryan Garko has been exceeding all expectations.
With a .314 batting average, 9 RBI's, .435 OBP, and 1 home run, it's hard to argue that Garko has been a reason why the team is struggling. Another factor of Garko's success is his eye while at the plate. Already, Garko has drawn 10 walks this year with 58 plate appearances, when he only managed 34 in 541 throughout last season.
On Wednesday, Garko was hit by a pitch on his hand which he initially believed to be broken but the training staff diagnosed the injury only as a bruise.
"When it's cold, it always hurts a little more", says Garko.
Garko is the only Indian who has managed to get on base at least once throughout each of the first 14 games of the season.
