The Gunners go clear at the top and Palace look in further trouble at the bottom. It took longer and much more effort than most people were probably expecting, but this is the result most anticipated.
We move on with our coverage of the Premier League now with Liverpool vs. West Brom which you can find here, so I'll see you there momentarily!
Thanks for joining me as always.
Crystal Palace 0 Arsenal 2
90+3'—Last attack for Palace. Jedinak heads the ball into the box, but everything dropping for Arsenal. Ozil breaks down the other end and Arsenal have four in the box...but Giroud can't find a telling pass in the area.
90+2'—Ozil has taken a knock and is struggling a little. Just a few seconds remaining.
Four minutes added on
89'—Into the final minute and Palace are still sending players forward, but the game's a lost cause for them now. They've pushed Arsenal all the way today though, and will need plenty more of the same in their forthcoming matches to get out of the bottom three.
Great run and chipped cross from Ramsey, who puts it on a plate for Giroud to run onto and head home from six yards, and that's Arsenal going five points clear at the top of the table.
Palace 0-2 Arsenal
Olivier Giroud, 87 mins
86'—Into the final five now and Arsenal perhaps looking the more dangerous as they counter-attack. Ozil races unmarked into the box and the cross finds him—but the German opts for the spectacular and gets his volley all wrong.
83'—Gayle stabs the ball somewhere toward goal in the area and it breaks for Chamakh, but rather than shoot first time he's opted to try and chest the control down in the area. He's quickly crowded out and the chance is gone. Time running out.
80'—Monreal twists his way into the area but his shot is blocked.
77'—Gayle, who with two goals is Palace's top scorer this season, has slightly more than 10 minutes to have a game-saving impact. Is he capable? It would be hard to argue with Palace taking a point from this game in all honesty, but Szczesny is in irrepressible form.
Arsenal sub: Wilshere did sneak on, for Gnabry, who came on as sub in the first half himself
Palace sub: Dwight Gayle on for Bannan
74'—ANOTHER BRILLIANT SAVE! Jedinak sees the ball rebound out to him and absolutely thunders in a volley which is heading for the top corner—until a big hand is stretched out by Arsenal's Polish keeper to turn it over the bar. Two top stops there.
74'—GREAT HIT! Ward comes infield, swaps passes with Kebe and whacks in his shot from 20 yards and forces Szczesny into a fantastic save!
2 - Mikel Arteta is the second player (after Mark Noble) to score and be sent off in the same Premier League game this season. Swing.— OptaJoe (@OptaJoe) October 26, 2013
Palace sub: Guedioura replaced by Kebe
Arsenal sub: Monreal on for Cazorla
69'—So Palace have 20 minutes to find an equaliser here, with an extra man on the field. Can they find a way through the midfield with both Flamini and Arteta off now? Wilshere might come on shortly, but Arsenal are so dangerous on the break. Palace can't overcommit too early.
64'—Ooh err. Arteta has hauled down Chamakh 10 yards after the halfway line, with no other defenders in sight. He's not heading toward goal...BUT IT'S A RED CARD FOR ARTETA!! Arsenal down to 10 men.
63'—Arsenal attempting to take some of the impetus out of this game by passing the ball around in their own half, letting Palace do the running to try and close them down.
60'—Into the final third of the game now, and Palace are stepping up their pressure and the tempo again, trying to pin the Gunners back in their own half. Still a great atmosphere being generated by the home fans.
Palace sub: Yannick Bolasie on for Thomas
56'—Quick counter for the home team, who break with three players. Guedioura and Moxey combine for the latter to have a shot on goal, but it's from a narrow angle and Szczesny makes the save.
54'—Arsenal looking threatening almost every time they break forward now, and of course the game is going to become more open as Palace need to move forward. Even with a win, Palace couldn't go above their current position of 19th today, but a hard-earned point would be a massive boost against the league leaders.
49'—Almost a second! Giroud frees Gnabry inside the box, he's tackled by Delaney and the ball bounces off Gnabry's shins and wide of goal.
