Boise State vs. BYU: Live Score and Highlights
Final BYU 37, Boise State 20
Boise State (5-3, 3-1 MWC) took on the Cougars of BYU (6-2) in a Friday night showdown live on ESPN.
Both teams were seeking the win that would make them bowl eligible, but it was the Cougars who delivered.
BYU dominated this game from the start, and the Broncos offense struggled greatly under the command of new starting quarterback Grant Hedrick.
Their defense also found it difficult to slow down Taysom Hill and the rest of the Cougars who were able to gain 568 yards of total offense.
It will be interesting to see how Boise State bounces back from this. They face a key Mountain West foe next week when they travel to Fort Collins to take on the Rams of Colorado State in a very important divisional game.

Player of the Game
BYU's Taysom Hill
27-of-41 for 339 yards, 3 TDs
18 carries for 68 yards, and one TD
Hill had command of this game from the opening drive. He showed his talent and ability to lead all game long.
As an Idaho native, it has to be hard for Boise State fans to watch him shine. Nonetheless, he shined bright on Friday night.
BYU takes over on downs. This game is pretty much over.
Boise State will break its streak of 50 wins in October. It was quite a run.
Also, 21 straight wins against Utah teams will end tonight as well.
Hedrick sure can scramble. Boise State fans probably wish he would have done more of that tonight.
Boise State still not giving up, but huge mountain to climb.
BYU gets 3!
Cougars go up by three scores.
This drive is doing two things for the Cougars.
1. Moving the ball
2. Running the clock
On first down, BYU gets a big gain on the ground. Good for 17-yards.
If Boise State wants back in this game, they will have to do better than that.

If Hedrick could bring the Broncos back from such a deficit, with all the turnovers... well, let's just say he would become a legend overnight.
However, lots of work if he wants to do that.
Boise State in the red zone yet again.
Touchdown Boise State!
Nice roll out by Hedrick, and throws a perfect pass for the score.
That was a great catch by Aaron Burks!
Hedrick over throws just a bit, but Burks leaps for it and gets the grab.
Up 21 and some BYU fans are booing the Cougars.— Brian Murphy (@murphsturph) October 26, 2013
Sometimes, fans make no sense at all.
Not going to win many games when you commit four turnovers and give up 500 yards of offense. Just an all around rough night for Boise State.— B.J. Rains (@BJRains) October 26, 2013
Exactly... what he said.
Boise State turns the ball over yet again. Third straight series where the Broncos have turned the ball over.
This doesn't look like a Chris Petersen team right now.
That was the first targeting call on Boise State this season, if I recall correctly...— Dave Southorn (@IDS_Southorn) October 26, 2013
Dillon Lukehart called for targeting. They are reviewing it...
Upheld, and Lukehart gone for the game and the first half against Colorado State.
That will make Petersen mad. There was no need for Boldewijn to jump that defender. It was a first down play and he already had nine yards.
Just a silly play by Boldewijn.
Boise State scores its first offensive touchdown against BYU in six-plus quarters. BYU 31, BSU 13 with 3:44 remaining 3Q.— Jay Drew (@drewjay) October 26, 2013
Boise State gets into the end zone for the first time tonight.
Hedrick does what Hedrick can do. A designed quarterback draw.
