Linesman Attacked by Persistent Bird in Football Match in Brazil

A match between Navegantes and Inter de Lages saw a bizarre passage of play when one of the linesman was attacked by a bird.

The bird followed the man in yellow for quite some time, swooping past and clearly putting the linesman off his job.

Still, it provided plenty of mirth for the cameramen and commentators—who for quite some time paid little to no attention towards the match.

According to the Dirty Tackle blog:

This wasn't the only bizarre incident of the game. It kicked off 25 minutes late because there was no ambulance or ball boys—the players couldn't possibly chase the ball down themselves—and later in the video above, you see the referee being asked to accept a phone call. The official refuses to take the handset.

Navegantes went on to win the match 2-1.
