Scary Moment For Jason Schmidt In Albuquerque

Evan ChavezContributor IMay 24, 2009

I was very excited to see Jason Schmidt pitch for the Albuquerque Isotopes tonight. I hoped to see him pitch about 100 pitches.

All went well until the third inning when he got hit by a line drive in the head. It was a scary moment as he fell to the ground.

He wasn't knocked out but when you see a pitcher get hit in the head by a line drive you think the worst. He walked off the field on his own.

The Isotopes post-game reported that Schmidt was check out in the club house but was not taken to the hospital. The post game report also said he will be monitored tonight.

Jason will be in my prayers tonight.

I will keep you updated on what I hear. For photos of Schmidt in Albuquerque go to my blog newmexicofan.blogspot.com.
