Hibbert Sees Benefit in New NBA Finals Format

It's only October but the month of June weighs heavy on the mind of every NBA player. Today, there was another reason to look ahead as the league's Board of Governors unanimously approved to change the format of the NBA Finals. Effective in June 2014, The Finals will feature a 2-2-1-1-1 format instead of the longstanding 2-3-2 setup. The new arrangement reflects how the previous playoff series are played out. The team with the home court advantage hosts Games 1, 2, 5 and 7 while the opponent hosts Games 3, 4 and 6.
