Though the match-up was against Seattle, Ellington was a non-factor last week and as he pushes for the starting job, he's going to have to produce a game that clearly outshines that of Rashard Mendenhall. A strong showing against a stout run defense like that of the Falcons would certainly help his cause.
While the Falcons run defense gives up fewer than 100 yards per game (99.7), they don't handle the running back screen plays particularly well, ranking in the middle of the pack and allowing nearly 50 yards per game to the play. With the Falcons strong pass rush, Carson Palmer will be forced to use his check-down early and often and could blossom into a strong day for Ellington.
