Julian Edelman: Week 8 Fantasy Outlook

RotoWireContributor October 23, 2013

Despite playing more snaps (70 to 63) than he did in Week 2 against the Jets, Edelman was about half as productive, catching just five balls for 44 yards on seven targets in Week 7. Much of that can be attributed to the return of Tom Brady's favorite toy, Rob Gronkowski, who saw 17 targets. Edelman's now been quiet for three straight weeks, and with Gronkowski back and Danny Amendola practicing again, he could be further marginalized going forward.
On the flip side, Gronk could get hurt again and Amendola could remain hurt, which gives Edelman some potential down-the-stretch value even if he's fallen down to the third option in the New England passing game for now. He still hasn't seen fewer than seven targets in a game this year, so he does retain starting value in some deeper PPR formats as well.
