Geno Smith: Week 8 Fantasy Outlook

Coming off a hard-fought overtime victory against New England in which Smith threw for 233 yards with a TD and an interception, plus 32 yards and a score running the ball, he and the Jets draw another good-but-not-great pass defense in the Bengals. Thanks to the Jets' continued issues at wide receiver (despite some having good games against the Patriots), Smith remains a middling fantasy option.
It's been kind of good-week, bad-week for Geno, but he's beginning to establish some consistency and he's learning as he goes along how to limit the mistakes that plagued him early in the year. The best part about facing the Bengals is that they've intercepted only five passes this year while allowing 11 touchdowns and 238 yards per game through the air, and now they've lost their top corner, Leon Hall, perhaps opening up some downfield attempts. Keep an eye out for whether Smith continues to make plays with his legs; it's a dimension he's only occasionally brought out so far, as last week's six rushes tied his season high.
