Bilal Powell: Week 8 Fantasy Outlook

RotoWireContributor October 23, 2013

Powell carried just three times for six yards in Week 7's win over New England, suddenly throwing his fantasy value into doubt as he largely sat on the sideline watching Chris Ivory run the ball 34 times. While he probably sees a bigger share of the carries in Week 8 against the Bengals, Ivory will probably retain the majority of the backfield touches.
Of course, any estimation of Powell's touches this week is pure speculation, as there was no indication in the first place that he would take a seat for the lion's share of the Patriots game. But Powell's been ineffective for three straight now, and he didn't help his case by failing to catch either ball that was thrown to him last week. It's hard to start him this week in any but the deepest formats, especially considering that the Jets are facing a strong Cincy front that's allowed less than 100 yards per game on the ground.
