Carl Edwards earned his fourth Nationwide Series pole, and 15th career Nationwide Series pole, Saturday afternoon at Lowe's Motor Speedway for Saturday night's Carquest Auto Parts 300.
Edwards won the pole by 0.037 seconds, running a time of 29.480 seconds.
Kyle Busch, who is the series points leader, ran a lap of --- seconds for his 10th top-10 start of the season.
Busch's only start not in the top-10 came at Daytona, where he qualified 13th. However, Busch will have to start the race in the back of the field after an engine change after the first Nationwide Series practice on Thursday.
Greg Biffle qualified third with a time of 29.592 seconds for his fifth top-10 start this season.
David Ragan and Brian Vickers joined Michael McDowell, David Gilliland, Kevin Harvick, Jeff Burton, and Mike Bliss to round out the top-10 qualifiers.
The qualifying record set by Jimmie Johnson on Oct. 14, 2005 of 28.7639 seconds was untouched during the session.
Morgan Shepherd, Casey Atwood, John Wes Townley, 52 Kevin Lepage, Kertus Davis, Marc Davis, and 84 Mike Harmon were the drivers who failed to qualify.
There will be 20 Chevrolets, 10 Toyotas, seven Fords, and six Dodges in the starting field.
The Carquest Auto Parts 300 is scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM ET and to be televised on ESPN2 with radio coverage on PRN and SIRIUS-XM NASCAR Radio.
